ULA 10 Months of Mentoring
Each student must identify an individual on their application with whom they would like to enter a mentoring relationship. These individuals were often those who had nominated the students for the Academy from the churches, other ministries and community organizations. Your choice of mentor must be approved by your pastor or youth leader.
Each mentor is expected to spend four face-to-face hours with the student per month and give guidance and limited assistance with the Service Learning Project. Each student or group of students will complete a Service Learning Project in their respective communities. The Urban Leadership Academy will give a $150.00 Student Leadership Grant to the students for their Service Learning Project. We will meet on a monthly basis to give encouragement and help with your Service Learning Projects. At our monthly meetings, we will have times of teaching, along with presentations from students on the progress of their Service Learning Projects and times of fellowship and fun!
