Partnership Opportunities

The nature of the Urban Leadership Academy is growing and our desire is that other cities outside of the Twin Cities metro can begin to feel the effect of the twin Cities. So far we have seen over 375 youth graduate our program while completing over 20,000 hours of community service. In 2004 we recognized that through natural attrition some of our students had gone on to many of the colleges where we had held our two-week intensive. Many others depending on denominational affiliation went to other Christian colleges in the area. It was no surprise that after interviewing 25 of our Alumni who are now attending Bethel, North Central, or Northwestern that the Urban Leadership training was helpful to inspire their decision to go to a Christian college or university. Our program is designed to promote the aspiration of students to pursue a Christian education.

We are looking to expand and in summer of 2008 and host our first National Urban Leadership Academy. This is where our recruiting will go beyond the Twin Cities and into Chicago, Denver, and Milwaukee. We are hoping that we to partner with North Central University. During this time all 50 students will live on campus, eat in the cafeteria, and attend classes daily. In the evening they will do service projects, be apart of discipleship groups, and enjoy chapel services with guest speakers.

The students receive a scholarship and are not charged for any of the program. The approximate budget for the ULA during a summer session is $10,000. The cost of this type of project would astronomically put us over budget. We are looking for a partner who understands and sees the need of investing in these leaders. Our hope is that we can successfully partner with as far as sponsoring such an event. We would ask that our sponsor be able to provide.
